This is my take on Sabriel from Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy. Just read the first two books a while ago and just starting on the third one now. I've enjoyed them very much so far.
Oil on illustration board.
Edit: I took the oil piece, scanned it, and did some touch-ups in photoshop. Hope its still winner. (if it was in the first place)
